Frank Lloyd Wright's 'Hollyhock House'


Hollyhock House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, has been named one of the most significant structures of the 20th century by The American Institute of Architects and achieved National Historic Landmark recognition in 1997. It sits at the top of a hill in East Hollywood and affords a glorious panoramic view of the city. The building itself is in poor shape, however. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs owns it now, and so far as I was able to see recently, restoration efforts are either stalled or going poorly....

Crossed Wires

My unfathomable fascination with telephone wires began, I think, in LA. There's a great stretch of Santa Monica Blvd in which telephone wires dominate the horizon...
These were taken in Los Feliz, during a lull in the day's inclement weather.
