Looks like a rooster to me - how can you be sure? It's surprising how often people ask me if my chicken's eggs could hatch, even knowing I have no rooster. Somehow birds are so mysterious to people that they seem exempt from the rules of nature...
Well, I'm a city boy after all. This is as close as I generally get to wildlife, period.
